3D Viking Longship Art Project

3D Viking Longship Art Project lets students design, color and assemble their own freestanding Viking-inspired ship using printable templates and clear step-by-step instructions. Students can choose between two longship options, select a sail design, customize shields, and add decorative details inspired by Viking art and craftsmanship.
The project combines art, history, design and 3D construction while giving students plenty of room for creativity. Two ship options are included: one with shields already built into the design and one with separate shields that students can color, design, cut out and attach themselves. Multiple sail options and Viking-inspired color guidance are also included.
The resource includes printable templates, materials guidance, written instructions, visual assembly photographs and finished project examples. The longship body can be printed on brown card to reduce colouring time, or on white or cream card for a fully customisable project. The project is well suited to upper primary and lower secondary students, with adult assistance recommended for younger learners.
