Art Deco 3D Architecture Project

Art Deco 3D Architecture Project gives students the opportunity to design, decorate, and construct their own Art Deco buildings using printable architectural templates. Inspired by the dramatic geometry of Art Deco skyscrapers, the project includes three different building designs with stepped rooflines, decorative façades, windows, doors, signs, and dimensional architectural details.
Students can adapt the project to different ages, abilities, and class time. They can decorate a single façade, add dimensional architectural elements, construct one complete building level, or combine three stackable levels to create an impressive 26-inch (66 cm) Art Deco skyscraper. Interchangeable windows and architectural details allow students to personalize their buildings with their own colors and design choices.
The project works well for upper elementary, middle school, and high school students and can be completed individually or as a collaborative class project. Students can combine their finished buildings to create an entire Art Deco city, making this project especially effective for classroom displays while encouraging creativity, careful construction, and architectural design.
